Project Description
How are professionals using AI tools to communicate across languages and cultures at work? In this project, you'll explore how tools like ChatGPT, DeepL, and Grammarly are used in multilingual workplaces to draft emails, translate messages, and support cross-cultural communication. You’ll gain experience in interviewing real AI users, analyzing communication practices, and studying how emerging technologies are shaping everyday work life. This is a great fit for students interested in language, technology, and global business.
Technology or Computational Component
The project emphasizes qualitative research methods supported by computing tools. Students will conduct and transcribe interviews with professionals who use AI in multilingual environments, then code and analyze the data using software such as NVivo or MAXQDA. The research will apply digital ethnography techniques to understand how AI tools are embedded in workplace routines, especially where language and cultural differences play a role.
