Projects

Project Description

The aim of this study is to examine the use of trails in the midwest, including the level of use, timing of use, motivators and barriers to use, and health behaviors as they relate to trail use. The research apprentice would have the opportunity to assist in the development and design of the research study, recruitment of study sites, and setup of trail counters. There may be opportunities to collect survey data as well.

Technology or Computational Component

Technology on trail counters is continually changing. The research apprentice would engage in research on methods for counting visitors to trails and provide information on the top three choices of trail counters for the study. The apprentice would also have the opportunity to setup and monitor the collection of trail counter data through their engagement in the study.
