Connecting Students with Alumnae

Thursday, August 31, 2017

As of today more than 200 students have begun the process of participating in the new CEWiT Mentor Collective program.

The Mentor Collective platform uses an algorithm to match students and mentors on the basis of aspirations, common interests, and background information. Mentors are IU Alumnae affiliates from a wide variety of academic backgrounds who have stepped up to serve as sounding boards and role models, and to provide encouragement and advice to students.

An online orientation is provided to both students and alumnae participants to ensure that maximum benefits are experienced. Mentors and mentees then meet virtually once per month to focus on such things as academic success, networking, confidence building, tips for workforce success, unique issues of being a woman in the workforce, and more. Also available is a special feature matching interested Black Women in STEM.

For more information or to sign up for either program, please go to Mentor Collective at CEWiT. We have a rolling acceptance process in place at this time, so it is never too late to engage!
