CEWiT is Hiring an Assistant Director of Cross-Alliance Initiatives

The Indiana University Center of Excellence for Women in Technology (CEWiT) is seeking applications for a full-time staff position, Assistant Director of Cross-Alliance Initiatives.

CEWiT addresses the national need to increase participation of women at all stages of their involvement in technology related fields through education, mentoring, community-building, and research collaborations. Grounded in the belief that technology can be a catalyst to excellence regardless of the discipline or career, the organization provides opportunities for faculty, staff and students to engage in meaningful networks and programs thematically linked to technology. The Center is comprised of core support personnel, a Director, Faculty, Staff, Student and Alumnae Alliances, and reports to the Office of the Provost with guidance from the CEWiT Advisory Council. This new position will join the management team to ensure further success of CEWiT.

The Assistant Director for Cross-Alliance Initiatives will ensure growth and development of successful initiatives offered via the CEWiT Faculty Leadership Team (FLT), the CEWiT Staff Alliance (IUWIT), and the new Alumnae Alliance. Additionally, this position is responsible for helping to plan CEWiT’s cross-alliance events, such as CEWiT’s annual technology conference and anniversary celebrations. This position formally reports to the CEWiT Director.

Desired skills and qualities include strong team, oral and written communication, and analytical skills. Involvement in grant writing is a possibility. The individual in this position will help create high-profile programs with impact that are responsive to interests and needs of faculty, staff, and alumnae affiliates and, in some cases, connect to the students. A Master’s degree is preferred, with three years of experience in higher education administration, event planning, and/or a related field. Position Classification: PAO-2AD
