Indiana University School of Education associate professor Dionne Cross was recently awarded the Women of Color STEM K-12 Promotion of Education Award at The 2014 Women of Color STEM Conference. The award recognizes commitment to enhancing science, technology, engineering and math education and careers for women and minorities. “I deeply appreciate that people recognized what I was doing and realized it was valuable. Teaching in itself is a learning process, and I want to help give teachers the tools to create an environment where women and minority students are interested in mathematical thinking,” Cross said.
