“We are looking for ways for women to think out of the box," said Dr. Maureen Biggers, in a recent interview with Big Ten Network on CEWiT. The goal of CEWiT, Biggers explained, is to encourage women to explore opportunities to learn more about technology, both inside and outside of the classroom. Kaitlin Paugh, a CEWiT intern and Women Empowering Students in Technology (WESiT) Executive Committee member, shared with the interviewer her experience of joining an engineering class in high school. “I dropped the class; I was the only girl in it,” Paugh said. “Now I’ve become an advocate for women in technology."
