Beth Plale, a professor in the School of Informatics and Computing, director of the Data to Insight Center at IU’s Pervasive Technology Institute, and CEWiT Advisory Council member, has been asked to co-chair the university’s new Digitization Master Plan (DMP) effort.
Plale, along with IUPUI University Library dean David Lewis, will map out a plan for preserving and digitizing important scholarship, born-digital research data, special collections material, and more.
"The Digitization Master Plan is an incredibly important effort," said Plale. "It will position the university as a leader in scholarly digital holdings, be they media, data, digital objects, or unique collections that in digital form can bring new types of scholarship and recognition to the university."
