On Friday, Feb. 26, during the Techie Women Have More… conference, Persistent Systems Inc. will moderate an Ideas Workshop for a select group of conference attendees. Those selected will have the chance to learn from two Senior User Experience Design Leads, Ninad Dalvi and Gautam Karnik, and Head of Columbus, Ohio Development Center, Anagha Vyas, in order to gain a basic and hands-on understanding of the Design Thinking process.
The Ideas Workshop is a human-centered approach to innovation that gives participants design tools to apply to a vast range of problems in their personal and professional lives. Students and young professionals have used this creative method for problem solving in their projects, career planning, entrepreneurship and more. Dalvi and Karnik recognize that innovation is nothing less than a survival strategy in today’s fast-paced life, especially for women in technology, who they say do the tightrope balance every day.
Both Dalvi and Karnik have been conducting the Ideas Workshop with Persistent Systems’ customers and staff for the past two years, as well as utilizing Design Thinking largely in their work. “Internally within the organization, we have used the Ideas Workshop to address the problems of our Sales and Admin functions, as well as to sensitize the developer community at large on this new way of problem solving and innovation,” said Dalvi.
The Ideas Workshop is currently full, but is just one example of the 30+ breakout sessions that will be available to attendees at the Techie Women Have More… conference this year. To learn more and register, visit our conference website http://www.techiewomenhavemore.wordpress.com.
