By 2020 there will be 1.4 million computing-related job openings in the United States. But based on current graduation levels, only 32 percent of those will be filled.

In fact, of the top 20 occupations with the highest median earnings for women, five fall within the tech arena. Even better, there’s almost no wage gap between women and men in tech. In other words, choosing a career in tech is a sound financial decision.

Look around you. Technology is in everything you see. It’s also part of virtually every occupation on Earth. Create IT, manage IT, consult about IT, teach IT, use IT in research, be an entrepreneur with IT, understand IT, link IT to your interests and you will have the edge in the job market!

Interested in art? Become a web developer or an interactive advertising specialist. Got a head for business? Become an enterprise architect or a data scientist. Interested in health care? Think about a career in health informatics. Want to change the world? Start by becoming more tech savvy.
